Today is Wednesday, October 10, 2012 and it amazes me that for me personally I have not seen any commercials referencing, NATIONAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH. "WHY?"
There are several organizations hosting events in the communities...but NATIONALLY there has not been any recognition or attention drawn to the critical issue of DESTRUCTION in relationships and families. Domestic Violence is killing and destroying families daily and cursing generations of families to believe that this lifestyle is normal. How many people do you know who are affected by this "spirit of destruction" and continues to terrorize women, men and children?
Is it possible that it is not covered because no one feels that it is an IMPORTANT issue to really bring NATIONAL attention to? I watched football last Sunday, and "pink" was everywhere! SERIOUSLY, this is not a challenge against BREAST CANCER awareness but isn't DOMESTIC VIOLENCE as important?
Not to mention that the stress of being in ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS could be an underlying contributor to breast cancer. Something must be done to drastically get people to understand domestic violence is seriously destroying lives daily.
How is it that a mother takes her small child and throw it against a wall and kill it? What happened to her that she can disconnect from her child in such a horrible manner? How is it that a supposed loving husband can kill his wife and "slow boil" her for days until nothing is left but her skull? What happens to make a man strangle his alleged girlfriend to death in a hotel. Proceeds to the fiance's house and shoot her and daughter in the head and kill them?
There are many more stories that I could share......I ask you. How many commercials have you seen in the month of OCTOBER that refer to DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH?
