I have a friend who often chides me about "not" blogging my thoughts. It may be that they only matter to me or that no one else is really interested. However, there are times when we have revelations, an epiphany and something that I call "GOD WINKS" that I feel is important to share to bless someone else.
Thus this writing today. There are quite a few things going on in my life right now...and what is amazing is that some are wonderful and some are stressful, and even fearful. However, I do know that GOD is still with me in all of them. This morning, I was watching Bishop T.D. Jakes minister from Luke 14 chapter and there was a portion in his sermon where he elaborated on Sampson and his encounter with a lion. The most important part about this is that Sampson, did not have anything in his "hands" to fight the lion with. Now this time for Sampson I am sure was incredibly frightful! However, Sampson had options...fight or flight and he chose to stand firm in his belief.
Personally, to stand before a real lion in my LIFE I do not know what I would do, but my point is this. Life can present times in our lives when it seems that we are standing before a ferocious lion, what do you do? Some of us may say that we would not place ourselves in that position others may say that they would look around to find something to fight with. In this situation though Sampson did not have anything in his hands to fight this lion with. The question then may be, how did he fight the lion? He fought it with all he had INSIDE of him, with every sense of power he could draw from.
What is in your life right now that looks like a lion, roaring, teeth, big sharp and could break through your bones as a toothpick? What are some of these things: health, finances, threat of foreclosure, food, transportation, etc. What looks like a big ferocious lion in your life? This is what blessed me in this sermon, although Sampson had nothing in his hands...he stood his ground and FOUGHT what was facing him with confidence and gave it a good fight. Many times life issues come into our space and seems so overwhelming we become emotional and in this we can not see solutions. There are also times in our lives when these lions come against us and we are forced to "be stil"l and I do recall Bishop Jakes making reference to Sampson being still and looking at the lion straight on. Do you have this type of courage to look at your lions straight on and not tremble.
Bishop Jakes went on to tell of how Sampson fought the lion and won! The turning point for me was in the story of the honey and bees inside of the remains of a lion and how we will receive honey running over for facing and fighting our lions.
This is my point, whatever you are facing right now...KEEP THE FAITH! There are tests, trials, tribulations that we will go through but you must remember who is with you as you go through them! Do not be distracted by all of the forces that are coming against you roaring like a lion..still yourself "be still" so that you can hear instructions of how to fight the roaring lion. GOD IS FAITHFUL and HE will never leave you or FORSAKE you. One thing you can understand that as you face your lions with praise and worship....THE LAND OF HONEY WILL OVERFLOW because obviously the enemy knows what is ahead...that is why the lions seems to be coming in packs.
FEAR NOT FOR YOUR LORD GOD IS WITH YOU! Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen. I will be exalted in the earth. Are you not in the earth?! Hear HIS voice and instructions and directions. Do not allow the enemy to make you feel that you do not deserve the blessings of honey overflowing because of the lions. This is confirmation that you have blessings on the way. For you see the more lions, the more HONEY!
Psalms 48:1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.
Psalms 40: 1-3 I waited patiently for the Lord and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. (2) He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. (3)
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God many shall see it, and fear and shall trust in the Lord.
Psalms 55: 16-18 As for me ,I will call upon God and the Lord shall save me. (17) Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and He shall hear my voice. (18) He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.
Rest in knowing that HIS word can not lie! Face your lions with the peace of GOD knowing that HE is with you and HE wants you to press your way to the honey.
I love you with the love of GOD.
Peace n Blessings
